The Lamy family’s roots in Burgundy date back to 1640, though its modern-day story begins with the establishment of the winery in 1973. Today, the estate is spearheaded by the passionate and incredibly hard-working Olivier Lamy. The estate is located in the village of Saint-Aubin, with most of its vineyards planted in nearby Puligny, Chassagne, Santenay, and Saint-Aubin itself.
Olivier’s Burgundy-based experience runs deep. Prior to returning to the family domaine, he gained invaluable experience working in Vosne-Romanée at Domaine Méo-Camuzet. Since taking the reins from his father, Hubert, Olivier has brought meticulous care to the vineyards by treating his vines with the utmost care. He believes that high density planting is key in getting the best expression of terroir from vine to glass, though yields are always kept low. Olivier’s first experimentation with high-density planting was with the most northerly part of his 1er cru ‘Derrière Chez Edouard’ vines, which he replanted in 2000. The estate comprises just under 20 hectares of vines, with about two-thirds planted to Chardonnay and one-third planted to Pinot Noir.
