Rivetti & Lauro

WHO WE ARE

Rivetti & Lauro comes out of an ambitious idea. The vineyards of Valtellina represent  centuries of history and tradition. They are the largest terraced wine-growing area in the Italian mountains. This is where Nebbiolo is produced, a great vine for a wine of noble and extraordinary quality. Alberto Rivetti and Catia Dell’Orco wanted to start from this tradition to introduce new growing techniques addressed to organic and biodynamic, in harmony with the mountain environment.

Rivetti & Lauro is growing new species of vine, whose fruit can meet the quality and generosity of Nebbiolo, exalting it. The great work in the yards make possible to build great wines. Rivetti&Lauro only makes manual vintages, collecting the best grapes into boxes. Their goal is to maintain the homogeneity of the product by considering its origin.

Rivetti & Lauro is located in the beautiful old town center of Tirano, where its cellars sit in the historical eighteenth century palace, Torelli’s Palace. Tirano is in Lombardy next to the border with Switzerland and by the sides of the Lake of Como.

The snow that begins melting and with the first sun of spring the crying of the vines begins. Everything spring up again and from that moment everything will be transformed by the accurate hands of the vine-dressers. Until the fruit and its harvest. Hands that pick up the grape full of colors and perfumes. The hands of the cellarmen that transform the fruit into wine. Earth and sky have become Wine. The Nebbiolo of the mountains.
