This 18-hectare estate is situated in the heart of the city of Chablis and includes four appellations: Chablis AOC , Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru, Chablis Montmains 1er Cru, and Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru. The family-owned and managed Domaine Race is today in the capable hands of fourth-generation Claire Race, winemaker and daughter of Denis and Laurence Race.
The farming is essentially organic (lutte raisonée), and the vines are well-situated and range in age up to 83 years. The fruit is picked at optimum ripeness and, purity being the principal objective, wood is never involved: the wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel.
