WHO WE ARE

The Azienda Agricola Brangero and La Ginestraia consists of two farms: one is “La Ginestraia” located in Liguria, which produces: Pigato, Vermentino & Rossese. The other is the “Brangero” farm, located in Piedmont and producing the typical wines of this region: Chardonnay, Arneis, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Barbera & Barolo.

Founded in 2007, the “La Ginestraia” winery is surrounded by the green of the olive trees and vineyards, on a small hill near the sea, a few steps from the ancient and characteristic Ligurian village of Cervo in the province of Imperia. Today this company produces about 40,000 bottles of wine.

 

The uniqueness of the Ligurian land is given by the fact that, even if the region is located in the north of Italy, it has a very mild climate, especially in the Ponente area. This is due both to the protection from the northern winds given by the Maritime Alps, which reach 2000 meters, and the gentle mitigation of the Ligurian Sea, which is a huge thermal accumulator. So in a few kilometers you can go from the cool heights of the hinterland to the warm beaches of the Riviera. The cultivation in Liguria is very difficult, since the flat areas are rare, but it has been made a little easier thanks to the construction of “terraces” or “poggi” by the ancient Ligurian farmers.
